Only registered users can rate and upload images.

It only takes a couple of minutes to register and requires nothing more than you choosing a user name and password.

You will also need to provide us with a valid email address so that we can send you a verification link for you to click and activate your account

Your email address is only viewable by you and we will never share this information with anyone

Now you've registered you can get involved by rating images and uploading your own

Only logged in users will see the option to upload an image, you also need to be logged in to rate images

To upload an image choose one of the categories from the horizontal navigation bar at the top of the screen

There are 2 categories, Street Art and Urban Art, Street Art, is the art you've spotted on the street and Urban Art is the art you buy from galleries and hang in your homes.

Once logged in, navigate to the Street or Urban Art sections you will see a button which says "Click here to Upload an image", Click It..

Click the browse button to navigate to the image on your computer and click upload, the extra options such as artist name, title and photographer credit are optional but it would be really helpfull if you could fill in as much info as possible

All images must be verified by Admin this is so our more sensitive visitors don't have to endure naughty photos of old ladies in compromising situations

We will do our best to verify all images uploaded within 24 hours probably in the evenings when we've finished our day jobs

Make sure you uploading your images in the correct format, the system accepts the following file formats, jpg, gif, png, tiff, bmp

Make sure your images are no larger than 1024px x 1024px, actually you can upload images larger than this as long as one side is less than 800px, we will resize images to within 1024 x 1024 when we verify them

If your still having problems please forward your images to admin@streetartawards.com with all the info and we will upload them for you

Unfortunately not everyone in the world is looking at a supersized monitor, everyones hardware set ups are different and theres still quite a few web users out there who use a dial up connection, to try and ensure consistency for everyone images around 1024px x 1024px seem to be a good compromise.

There are also issues with regard to copyright theft, the larger the pixel dimensions of any image uploaded to the web the easier it becomes for a publisher to copy the image and use it in print. Any image less than 1024px x 1024px is pretty useless for print purposes

We have installed an image magnifier widget so you can zoom into images to check out detail, you will notice this when you open thumbnails and move your mouse over the larger image

To rate images you must be logged in

Images are rated out of 10, 10 being the highest and 1 the lowest

Click an image thumbnail to open the larger version, you will see a strip of 10 stars, move your mouse over the stars, they get brighter as you move along.

Choose the amount of stars you wish to award an image and click your mouse, if successfull you will see a "Thankyou !" Message

To make it fair for all involved, StreetArtAwards assume our members expect an honest result so we have taken steps to make the rating system as fair as possible

Every time you vote for an image your IP address is stored in our database, this is to prevent repeat votes, we know there are ways around this but hope that people will play fairly

Anyone found trying to abuse the system will be banned from the site
